CRONIN INJURED

With United set to play Florida International University in a friendly match this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale, there is troubling injury news coming from Black-and-Red training camp today. Yesterday goalkeeper Steve Cronin injured his left wrist at the end of training in a shooting drill. United's medical staff are still awaiting the results of Cronin's MRI and x-rays from the morning, but the early prognosis seems to be that the netminder will miss some time to recover from this ailment. As the specific details of the injury begin to emerge, we will have further updates. Cronin played 90 minutes in Monday's friendly against Canada's Under-20's in a 5-1 win.

JAKOVIC GOES THE DISTANCE FOR CANADA

United central defender Dejan Jakovic played a full 90 minutes for the Canadian National Team today in an international friendly match against Greece. Played at the A.E.L FC Arena in Larissa, Greece, the home side claimed a 1-0 advantage over the Canadians. Jakovic is expected back in United camp tomorrow evening.
